I have had the pleasure to know and work with Siobhan for the last 3 years. We teamed up to expand the AWS Bar Raiser program globally, an internal hiring effort that develops expert level interviewers and gives them the skills needed facilitate debriefs and reach hiring decisions. Siobhan’s goal was to expand diversity within the Bar Raiser program at Amazon, in all geographical regions where AWS exists. Not only did she dive deep to measure the existing demographics within the program but she then scheduled a series of outreach events in N. America, Europe, Asia-Pac and S. America looking ahead over a 6 month time period. Due to her high standards and execution, the BR program grew in overall numbers by 35% and in diverse applicants in each region by over 50%. Furthermore, the program was highlighted with an all-women’s cohort where every member of the cohort graduated into the Bar Raiser program inside of 90 days.
